Salvatore "Sam" G. Porretta, 52, suddenly passed on September, 8, 2020. Beloved son of Pat and Anna (nee Sanfratello) Porretta. Devoted Husband of Ania Sodziak. Treasured father of Pasqualino and Luca. Dear brother of Tina (Frank) DeCicco. Loving grandson of the late Concetta and Salvatore Porretta and the late Antonina (nee Campagna) and Vincenzo Sanfratello. Sam was uncle to Gia, Alberto (Camille), Frankie (Sarah) DeCicco and nephew of John and the late Antonia Porretta, Silia and the late Tony Zangara, George (Josephine) Sanfratello, Mimma (Toto) Canzone, the late Mario (late Benita) Porretta, the late Joe (late Lina) Porretta and Gilda (the late Tony) Porretta. Sam was the best cousin ever to Donna, Mike, Nina, Tony, Frankie, Tina, Vince, Salvi, Aggie, Vince, JoJo, Matthew, Maria, Nirella, John, Peppino, Piera, Giovanna, Maurizio, Cettina, Antonio, Salvatore, Chiara, Nick, Sylvia, Mario, Pasquale, Toto, Sonia, and Sabrina. Sammy is survived by so many more cousins, Godchildren and friends whose lives he touched in so many inspirational ways. Everything about Sammy embodied goodness, and we are all so grateful for the gift that God gave us with him. He has forever left a void in all of our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial Monday September 14, 2020, 1:00 p.m at St. Emily Church, 1400 E Central Rd., Mt. Prospect, Illinois. NO SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE FUNERAL HOME, PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Entombment will take place after the Mass at All Saints Cemetery, Immaculate Heart of Mary Mausoleum, in Des Plaines.
