Deloris Randolph Kelly Ripley, West Virginia Obituary

Deloris Randolph Kelly

Deloris Gay Kelly, 90, or as most knew her “Nanny”, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 10, 2020 after a brief illness. Deloris was born to the late Ezra and Velma Randolph of Ripley, WV on February 14, 1930. She gave her heart to Jesus as a little girl and we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Savior and surrounded by family who have gone on before. Deloris was married to her husband Archie for 43 years and they raised 3 children. She worked as a Nurses Aide at Jackson General Hospital and loved being a “Cheer Nanny” for her grand-daughters cheerleading squads.  She was a proud “Nanny” to all her grandchildren and to about everyone else who knew her. She always had a smile and loved taking care of people.  She also loved working in her flowerbeds, traveling with her family, cooking and hosting family get-togethers.  Deloris is survived by her daughter Linda (Vernon), grandchildren, Steve (Teresa), Carey, Suzanne (Ray), Kelly (Isaac) and Sarah, and great-grandchildren Alex, Noah, Taylor, Lilly, Lincoln, and Ezra. She is preceded in death by her parents Ezra and Velma, husband Archie, brothers Dwight and Eldon, sisters Evelyn and Reva, son Steve, and daughter Barbara.   Our family would like to thank the ICU Staff at Camden Clark Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided to our family during their illnesses. We will be forever grateful for their kindness during the most difficult time in our lives. Services will be held alongside her daughter Barbara's services, on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church with Visitation from 12-2pm with the service following. Burial will be at Fairplain Cemetery in Fairplain, WV. Services can be Live-Streamed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSeJ27HyG9pJzdoKANwHTHA or via the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church’s Facebook Page.

Losing my grandmother and Aunt in the same week has been incredibly hard. I’m convinced that no one has ever had a better grandmother than me ever. I know that she’s enjoying a joyous family reunion with our family and Barb in heaven right now. Granny I love you and will... Continue Reading

Delores was the epitome of a sweet lady. I’ve known Linda for over 50 years and loved when Delores and Barb or even Steve came to visit her. Had them at my house for dinners and loved them all. My Prayers are with you all.💕

Steve Kelly was best friends with my brother, Alan, while I was growing up and therefore I became friends with this family. Have so many fond memories of spending time with them. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Tia Ord Harper
