Carole Jean McDaniel

Carole Jean Cook McDaniel, 82 years old, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020. IF I KNEW Hold your loved ones close today Whisper in their ear, Tell them that you love them And you’ll always hold them dear. For tomorrow is promised to no one, Young and old alike, And today may be your last chance To hold your loved ones tight. ---Adapted, Author Unknown Carole was born in Lambertville, Michigan, September 1, 1938, to Vela and Joe Cook. The weather was too cold for the Cook family, so Vela and Joe sold their gas station/grocery store and moved to Milton, Florida, in 1952. Carole graduated Milton High School in 1956, marrying Larry McDaniel on January 3, 1958. She worked with Civil Service as a clerk typist for 21 years and in later years, as a caregiver for the elderly. She always found pleasure in flower arranging and made many arrangements for family and friends. She loved playing cards and going to garage sales. Her favorite pastime was listening to a good band playing the blues, and dancing to that kind of music. She loved to dance, and didn’t even care if anyone else was dancing with her. She is dancing with the angels now! She loved her family. She never met a stranger, and loved everyone. She is survived by three children, Laura Lewis (Greg), Marcy Carrier (Kip) and Darren McDaniel; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Cook; and a sister, Judy Camp (Phil). Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Lewis Funeral Home of Milton has been entrusted with arrangements.
