Robert Yates Green, Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2020. Rob was born in Hampton, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert (Chuck) Green, Sr. Wallace Memorial UMC in Fox Hill, Hampton, VA was the church of his youth, where he grew into a man of faith in the Lord. Rob received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Christopher Newport College of the College of William and Mary. As an adult, he loved Virginia Beach and it became his lifelong home. He established Caliper, Inc. in 1984 and continued to grow the contract-staffing business, near and dear to his heart, until he retired in 2017. Rob was a true Southern gentleman, who loved boating and being a part of the business community. He was a generous philanthropist to many organizations. He also supported and worshipped at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church for thirty-five years. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Shirley Mason Green; wife, Shelley Speas Green; brother, Mason Green and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Channing Handshue and her husband, Brandon; grandsons, Troy and Gavin; son, Rob Green, III and his partner, Angela; granddaughters, Eva, Adrianna and Paris and their mother, Jade Green; brother-in-law, Ted Speas, Jr. and his partner, Kim Humphrey.
