All services will take place on Monday, September 14 at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Public visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. &ndash; 2:00 p.m., with her public funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Mellette Cemetery in Mellette, SD.&nbsp; Pastor Melissa Rowenhorst will officiate. &nbsp;Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home. She married Kenneth Morris, Jr. on December 17, 1977, in Brentford, SD. She was a homemaker and outside of the home, she cleaned at the Brentford Bar.</strong></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><strong>Lavonne loved pets, especially her stuffed animals. She loved getting her nails painted and wearing jewelry. If there was a bingo game, you could always find her involved. Family was important, and you could always count on her laughs, giggles, lots of big hugs, and her great smile.</strong></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><strong>Grateful for sharing her life are her sister Pat (Arnold) Arneson of Tulare, SD; three brothers: Roger Alden of Mellette, SD; David (Sharon) Alden of Anaconda, MT; and Harry (Katherine) Alden of Waukegan, IL; special friend Robert Schmidt; as well as several nieces and nephews.</strong></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><strong>Lavonne was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, parents Elmer and Opal, brother James, sister-in-law Winnie, and two infant sisters.</strong></span></p>

Lavonne Gail (Alden) Morris, 81, of Redfield, SD, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, SD.
