Ray Mitchell Powell Jr.

<p>Ray Mitchell Powell Jr. was born on August 31, 1985 in Prince Georges County, MD to the late Patricia Kelly and Ray Powell Sr. He was one of four children. On September 8, 2020 at the age of 35, Ray was called home to rest eternally. Ray grew up in the family home in Laurel, Maryland.&nbsp;</p> <p>During Ray&rsquo;s younger years, his mother always kept him busy in different activities to include boy scouts and little league football. After Ray&rsquo;s parents passed away, he went to live with his uncle Jeffery in Columbia, MD where he attended Wilde Lake Middle School and Wilde Lake High School where he graduated.&nbsp;</p> <p>Upon graduation, Ray went to Culinary school where he received a culinary certification as we all know that is what he loved to do. Cooking was his was his passion. Ray cooked for every event that someone was having or he would help once he got there. Ray was a very loving person who always put his family first. He loved his family and friends and took part in any all family events.&nbsp; If no one was putting together an event, he would take control and have any and every one to show up to eat.&nbsp;</p> <p>One of the many proudest moments in Rays life was the birth of his son. He was so happy that he became a dad and did everything in his power to make sure we all knew it. Ray was a devoted father, brother and friend. If you knew him, you loved him. He had that smile that touch your heart and that laugh that was contagious.</p> <p>Ray has entered Gods home where he will rest and sleep peacefully as he awaits the resurrection to life. Ray is proceeded in death by his mother Patricia Kelly, father Ray Powell Sr, brother Shawn Powell, and his first cousin Johnathan Barney.&nbsp;</p> <p>Memories of Ray will&nbsp;be cherished by his son Ray Powell III, 2 sisters Tracy Powell and Tasha Kelly, 2 uncles Jeffery and Walter Powell Jr., 3 aunts: Barbara Stanton, Ella Kelly and Jean Kelly, His Granny (Aunt Bertha Stanton), niece Dorshell Rhea, nephew Mason Alston, cousin Frankie Barney and host of other relatives and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Ray Mitchell Powell Jr. was born on August 31, 1985 in Prince Georges County, MD to the late Patricia Kelly and Ray Powell Sr. He was one of four children. On September 8, 2020 at the age of 35, Ray was called home to rest eternally. Ray grew up in the family home in Laurel, Maryland. 

During Ray’s younger years, his mother always kept him busy in different activities to include boy scouts and little league football. After Ray’s parents passed away, he went to live with his uncle Jeffery in Columbia, MD where he attended Wilde Lake Middle School and Wilde Lake High School where he graduated.
