<p> <span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"> Mrs. Frances Goins Hughes, age 78 of Stuart, Virginia departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at her home. She was born in Patrick County on March 1, 1942, to the late Sam Goins and Nellie Willard Goins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Laura Fain; three brothers, Bobby Goins, Walter Goins, and Clyde Goins; three half-sisters, Rachel Davis, Carrie Bowman, and Alice Lawson; one half-brother, Harry Goins. Frances was a faithful member of Wayside Baptist Church. She had worked at the hospital in Patrick County for 42 years and later worked for Home Health until her retirement. She will be remembered for faith, for her beautiful flowers she enjoyed so much, and her love for her family.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"> Mrs. Hughes is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, John Marvin Hughes; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rita Belcher (Leon), Brenda Hughes (Jamie), Vicky Bunn, and Connie Nichols (Trey); one son, John Wayne Hughes; four granddaughters, Heather Harris, Danielle Stophel; Trinity Nichols, and Presleigh Nichols; three grandsons, Zach Belcher, Kevin Adams, and Tyler Hughes; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah Harris, Hailey Harris, Shane Harris, Scarlet Stophel; and Juniper Stopel; two sisters, Iris Bryant and Linda Fain; two brothers, Shirley Goins and Jerry Goins; one half-sister, Virginia Easter; one half-brother, Andy Goins; and numerous nieces and nephews.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"> Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastors Teddy Hiatt and Mickey Rogers officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. Friends may pay their last respects by visiting the funeral home on Saturday, September 12, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted but if desired, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart, VA 24171.
