It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ambrose Philpott announces his passing. Ambrose passed away at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders, NL on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his wife - Clotilda Philpott; parents - James & Elizabeth Philpott; brother - Bartholomew Philpott and siblings-in-law - Anastasia Philpott, Fred Drover, Mike Careen, Sheila Hann (Jim); friend and companion - Mary Chambers. Left with many fond and loving memories are his children - Tim Philpott (Lynn), Fort McMurray, AB, Ron Philpott (Myles), Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Roger Philpott (Marina), Port au Choix, NL and Denise Philpott (Keith), Corner Brook, NL; grandchildren - Kyle, Jade, Tyson, Dylan, Emma, Aimee, Ashton and Cloe; 5 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law - Joanne Haas Philpott; siblings - Stella Drover, Aiden Philpott (Marion) and Jim Philpott (Kathleen); siblings-in-law - Marie Careen, Roy Barker (Idella), Donna Barker (Dale), Sue Hyde (Kevin), Tom Barker (Classie), Jean Barker (Perry), Hatty Barker (Rick), Henry Barker (Maxine), Robert “Bob” Barker (Sherry) and Adrienne Goodman (Paul) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Private Family Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Coachman's Cove, NL. Interment followed at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery in Coachman's Cove. We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Ambrose's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Philpott family. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Ambrose's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Coachman's Cove, NL. "God indeed is my salvation, I am confident and unafraid. For the Lord is my strength and my might and he has been my salvation."
