James Anthony Kenny St. Thomas, Ontario Obituary

James Anthony Kenny

KENNY – James Anthony of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in his 77th year. Jim is survived by his loving wife Anne Kenny (nee Petto); his daughter Christiane (Court) Post and their daughter Lauren of Bermuda; by his brothers Bryan (Mary) Kenny of Iona and David (late Nancy) Kenny of St. Thomas; by his niece Kate Kenny of St. Thomas; by his sister-in-law Anna (late Melchior) Koehl of Hanover; and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his sister, Faye Pritchard. Jim was born in Ottawa to the late Bernard and Irene Kenny. In his early years, Jim’s great passion was for cars, especially Mustangs and this lead naturally to the start of his career in St. Thomas at Fearn Ford. Jim then moved on to Elgin Handles and then started his own business, Ancris Marketing. Jim finished his career as Manager of Field Services for the Lumber and Building Materials Association of Ontario. Jim was active locally in Old Timer’s Hockey, Baseball and the Optimists. Replacing the Mustangs of his earlier years, the blue tractor on Pulley Road became his favourite vehicle. Jim had many loves, but above all, was his wife Anne, daughter Christiane her husband Court and granddaughter Lauren. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). A time for family and friends to honour and celebrate Jim’s life will be announced on a later date. If desired, donations to the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation – Community Fund will be gratefully acknowledged. Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca.
