Annie Jane “Jeanie” Harrelson Jeffares, age 91 of Smyrna, passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side. A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, September 14, 2020 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. Interment will be in New Smyrna Cemetery. Those who are unable to attend the service will be able to watch a livestream on the Carmichael Funeral Home Facebook page. Mrs. Jeffares was preceded in death by her husband James Harold Jeffares, brothers and sisters Joe Ernest Harrelson, Edna Elizabeth Rivers, Georgia Reid Hause, Helen Coleman, and grandson Martin Timothy Puckett. Surviving are her children Diane Jeffares Conley of Smyrna, James Edward “Bunk” Jeffares (Nancy) of Marietta, Robert Gregory Jeffares of Marietta, Russell Jeffares of Smyrna, sister Ernestine Harrelson Carter of Franklin, grandchildren Kristina Mauldin, granddaughter in law Joy Puckett, Lauri Jeffares Robertson, Jennifer Jeffares McIntire (Todd), James Eric Jeffares, Paul Alan Jeffares (Juli), Ivy Leah Lautsch (Phil), 15 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-8 pm Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the funeral home. To ensure proper social distancing is observed, there will be a maximum of 50 people allowed in the funeral home at one time.
