Marian E. Knight Obituary

Marian E. Knight, 90, passed away Wednesday morning at Riverview Village Nursing Home in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born in Huntingburg, Indiana to the late Louis and Josephine Braunecker. In her early 20’s, Marian took up modeling and later worked at Robinson and Nugent Electronic Parts where she made parts that found their way onto Apollo 11. From Huber’s Farm to New Albany or Clarksville to Louisville her loved ones remember her fondness for walking long distances. While Marian was a domestic homemaker she also found ways to satisfy her adventurous spirit by becoming a soldier for the Salvation Army where she dedicated 34 years of her life, volunteering at the Clarksville thrift store and finding employment at the Louisville location. She liked to craft and sew but especially loved ringing the bells during the Christmas season for the Salvation Army and manned the canteen for the Salvation Army at Harvest Homecoming

Marian was part of a large family and is survived by her son William “Bill” Rutledge (Robin) and her two grandsons Chris Rutledge (Sarah) and Mitchell Rutledge.

Visitation will take place at the Oak Street location of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes on Saturday, 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with funeral service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian’s name to The Salvation Army.
