Zeb Vance Gibson, Jr.

<p>Winston-Salem- Mr. Zeb Vance Gibson, Jr., 95, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Arbor Acres. He was born March 20, 1925 in Forsyth County, the son of Zeb and Nellie West Gibson. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he was a retired Captain in the Winston-Salem Fire Department with 30 years of service. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WW II. Zeb loved to spend time with family and friends at the family cabin in Franklin, NC and was always quietly helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lydia Kirkman Gibson; a sister, Betty Gibson and a brother Gene Gibson. Survivors include two sons, Richard Lee Gibson (Donna) of Florence, SC. And Alan Wayne Gibson (Catherine) of Asheville; five grandchildren, Christopher Gibson (Lauren), Michael Gibson (Lauren), Megan Gibson, Graham Gibson, and Gabe Gibson and three great grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, and Charlie. There will be a private graveside service with immediate family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3819 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
