Roper Funeral Home and Crematory<br />206 Holly St<br />Jasper, GA 30143<br />(706) 253-7500<br />(706) 253-0040<br />www.roperfuneralhome.com<br /><br />Blanche Strickland, a long time member of the community, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. <br /><br />Blanche is survived by son, Ray Strickland of Jasper; grandchildren, Matt Strickland of Athens, Kerry Strickland of Jasper, Leigh and Kevon Combs of Baldwin, Georgia; five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Lawson of Ball Ground; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.<br /><br />She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Strickland; parents, Cleon and "Tom" Lawson; sister, Myra Mullinax; and brother, Bill Lawson.<br /><br />A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the Mica Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Wilber Ridings and Reverend Kenny Sutton officiating. (Conns Creek Road at Fletcher Drive, Ball Ground, GA 30107)<br /><br />The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, September 11, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.<br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations in Blanche's memory may be made to Pickens Senior Center or Boys and Girls Club of Jasper.<br /><br />Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory. <br /><br /><br />
