Laura Ann Conner, age 57, of Lake Lure, North Carolina, following a long and hard battle with cancer, departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 09, 2020 at her residence with loved ones at her side.  The daughter of the late Jerry Martin and Gayle Montieth Flack, she was born in Rutherford County on June 14, 1963.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Furr. 

 

Laura enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  When able, she loved visiting the beach. Having had a special place in her heart for others and animals, Laura had taken care of her mother for many years prior to her mother’s passing; and was known to have been a caregiver for many others. 

 

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Andy Conner; two daughters, Natasha Furr and Stephanie Crotts (Michael); one sister, Kathy Cavender (Rick); and one brother, Jerry “Doodle” Martin (Thelma).  Laura is also survived by eight grandchildren, Alesha Crotts, Blake Crotts, Jordan Stover, Brandon Stover, David Stover, Constance Sorrow, Shalynn Furr and Alyssa Furr; and a number of nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Round Hill Baptist Church in Union Mills with Rev. Michael Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
