Tommy Lynn Starr - McNabb Funeral Home Obituary

Tommy Lynn Starr, 62, of Pocahontas, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his home. He was born November 4, 1957 in Pocahontas to the late Lynn Doyne and Francis Ange Starr. Tommy was of the Catholic faith. He loved the Lord. Tommy went through RCIA, became Catholic, got baptized and renewed his vows in the church on their 34th wedding anniversary. Tommy was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His passions included his Harley Davidson (Ruby), which gave him peace of mind and heart. He loved hunting and fishing and was always fixing and tinkering with different things. He was always coming up with a solution for someone who needed an answer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Francis Starr; brother, Allen Starr; nephew, Steven Starr; and aunt Geraldine Oakley. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy Starr; son, Jamie (Shauntel) Starr; daughters, Amber (Jerry) Roberts, Nikki Starr and boyfriend Willie West; granddaughters, Kayla and Brianna Lawson of Searcy, and Kelly and Megan Feisser of Pocahontas; grandsons; Dakota, Michael, and Samuel Pyles and Colton Thielemier of the home, Alex Roberts of Pocahontas; special friends, Jessica, Garry III, and Michaela Snow; brother and sister-in-laws, Terry (Lynn) Green, Hugert (Theresa) Steimel, Dawn Brandaberry, Skip (Cindi) Green, Jim (Sandra) Green, and Mary Munn and fiancé, Mark Reed. Tommy is also survived by aunt, Virginia (Bert) Stevens; cousin, Linda (David) Bowlin; nephews, Cory (Lynette) Starr and Eric Starr; great nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. Those honored as pallbearers include Terry, Jim, Hugert, Jeff, Eric and Cory. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Sullings, Bobby Cox and Jerry Roberts. Visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5-7 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 11, 2020, at 10 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Stephen Elser officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock or St. Paul’s Family Life Center. To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
