Herschel Mason Bourne, a resident of New Richmond, passed away on September 9, 2020 at Siena Gardens at the age of 91. He was born in Owenton, Kentucky, son of the late Mattie and Mason Bourne. Herschel was the loving husband of Nell Bourne (nee Hunley), beloved father of Carletta Blankenship (Dallas) and the late Glenn Mason Bourne and Russell David Fornash, cherished grandfather of Melissa Sebastian, Tina Grippa, Dawn Duncan, Bradley Blankenship, Justin Bourne, David Fornash, Greg Fornash and the late Glen Bourne. Herschel is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, September 12 from 10 AM until 11 AM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 200 Western Ave., New Richmond. Followed by his funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors at Mt. Zion Cemetery in New Richmond.
