<p>Laura Mae Farmer Burris, 93, of Albemarle, entered into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.</p> <p>Laura was born January 7, 1927 in Anson County to the late Samuel Armstead Farmer and Fronnie Mae Presley Farmer. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Bruce Ethan Burris, who passed away in 1984; step-son, Richard Burris; brothers, Macon, Horace, and Walter Farmer; and sister, Gladys Frye.</p> <p>The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home&#39;s Lefler Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Parker Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Richfield.</p> <p>She is survived by her son, Bryan (Reba) Burris of Richfield; daughter, Norma Kay Mitchell of Richfield; step-sons, Aaron Burris of Albemarle, Gary Burris of New London, Nelson Burris of Waxhaw; grandchildren, Mark Butler, Keyoka Blake, Chad Little, and Shelly Patterson; six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved working for American Efird Mill, where she was a spinner for over 42 years.
