John (Giovanni) Casiello Obituary

John (Giovanni) Casiello, 92, of Nutley passed away on September 8, 2020. Born in Garfield, NJ he moved to Nutley in 1960, he was the son of the late Santoro and Maria (Cinquina) Casiello. John was a successful businessman who retired as the former owner of S & S Generator in Passaic, and Park Generator in East Rutherford NJ. John was the beloved husband to Jennie (Saporito) Casiello and celebrated 71 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Karen Casiello, daughter in law Sally Casiello, grandchildren John Paul Casiello and wife Eva, Allison Lunsford and husband Scot, Jessica Casiello, Emily Casiello, Michael Petretta, Lisa D'Alessandro and husband Michael, David Petretta and seven great grandchildren. John was predeceased by his sons, John and David, his brothers Nicholas, Anthony and Sam, and his sister Mary Meyer. John was a proud first generation Italian-American. Those that new him called him 'Skip' because he skipped grades in school with his brilliant mathematical mind. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, regularly eating out locally at his favorite restaurants like The Queen Margherita, diehard Yankee fan, watching classic Western movies, listening to Frank Sinatra and was an avid coin collector. Being a dedicated family man, his love for his family knew no bounds. Beyond his family he cherished his many friendships. He touched the lives of so many with his warm generous heart - known for abundant patience and optimism. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 4-8pm. The funeral will be from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 8am (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial St. Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley at 9am. The interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, (www.stjude.org) Please keep in mind of all social distancing rules. In order to enter the premises, you must have and wear a mask .Only 55 people are allowed within the premises at any given time, so please be mindful of your time spent paying your respects so that others will be able to do so as well.
