<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Verrel Harrison King</strong>, age 79 of Orange, Texas passed to Glory on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Lake Jackson, Texas. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;">Verrel was born in Lincoln, Delaware on June 13, 1941 to Nora Jane Powell King and Otis King. He proudly served in the United States Navy and then in the Army National Guard. He married his wife Joyce and the couple made their home in Orange, where they raised their family. Verrel was a contractor and worked in the area shipyards.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;">He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Verrel Harrison king, Jr.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;">He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce King of Orange, TX, son Steve King and his wife Julie of Orange, TX, two daughters, Peggy Swire and her husband Russell of Orange, TX and Norma Sroufe and her husband Roger of Ohio, eight grandchildren and numerous&nbsp; great grandchildren.</span></p>
