Rhonda Yeater Gaines Evans, Georgia Obituary

Rhonda Yeater Gaines

Rhonda Yeater Gaines, age 62, entered into rest on Saturday, September 5, 2020 following a brief illness that she fought with valiancy and strength. Rhonda was born in Augusta to the late Ronald Yeater, Sr. and Patsy Malin Yeater. She loved to travel anywhere that involved being outside; and while she loved the mountains… she loved the beach a little bit more. She was a dedicated employee of Petsch Respiratory where she worked for 16 years and gained countless friends. She will be remembered as the “perfect wife” for her love of Braves baseball and UGA football, her selfless and giving spirit, and her consistent knowledge of the upcoming weather forecast. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrin Gaines; and her nephew, Charles Kenneth Nutt. Rhonda is survived by her traveling companion, best friend, and husband of 30 years, André Gaines of Martinez; three children, Nathan Cox of Denver, Colorado, Christopher Cox of Grovetown, and Michael Gaines (Lindsey) of Orange, Texas; one granddaughter, Kynslee Cox; brother and sisters, Ronald “Buddy” Yeater, Jr. (Jennie) of Monroe, Teresa Yeater of Augusta, Yvette “Dennie” Nutt (Charles) of Hepzibah, and Belinda Flanders (Michael) of Evans; mother-in-law, Maria Gaines of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Eliana. A graveside celebration of Rhonda’s life will take place at 9:00 A.M. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pastor Sonny Jones will officiate. The family requests that all CDC guidelines be respected. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Word of Life Church, 6389 Washington Road, Appling, Georgia 30802; or to the Heart and Vascular Institute c/o University Healthcare Foundation, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Georgia 30904.

My big sister was the must loving and caring person that you would meet, she never meet a stranger. We had many good times weather we were out shopping or on the phone or in the mountains or the beach we enjoyed every minute. She was the back bone of my life.
