Carl Terry Helstrom Obituary

Carl Terry Helstrom, 81, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in Boynton Beach, Florida on September 4, after a long battle with ALS. Carl was born on December 24th, 1938, in Perham, Maine, the son of the late Carl Victor Helstrom and Adina (Holts) Helstrom. Carl graduated from Caribou High School in 1957. He was employed by Maine Public Service Company before opening his appliance business, County Appliance Repair, which he ran successfully for many years before selling the business and moving to Florida in 1983 to be closer to his family. Carl was the kindest husband, father, grandfather, and friend that anyone could ask for - protective, supportive, and loving. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, enjoyed golfing, and was known as a master joke teller. Carl is survived and loved by his wife of 61 years, Priscilla Anderson and their children Debbie and her husband Tom Chilson, of West Palm Beach, Diana and her husband Chip Powers of Vero Beach, and Terry and his wife Karen Helstrom of Boynton Beach; two grandchildren Carl Helstrom and Kyle Helstrom. Carl is also survived by his sister Wanda and husband Claude Loveless of Indiana, brother-in-law Wendell Dickinson of Massachusetts, sister-in-law Sonja and husband Carl Sjoberg of Caribou,ME, brother-in-law Roger and wife Alta Anderson of Westmanland,ME and Boynton Beach,FL, sister-in-law Beverly Anderson and friend Phil Savage of The Villages, FL. Carl was predeceased by his brother Dale and wife Linnea Helstrom of Perham,ME, and sister Betty Dickinson. Known as ‘Uncle Casey’, Carl was also loved by many nieces and nephews. The memorial service and private celebration of life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation (www.trustbridgefoundation.org) or the ALS Association.
