Chris Edward Haver, age 30, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Clinton, died suddenly Saturday September 5, 2020. He was born September 14, 1989 in Ann Arbor, to Manley Chris and Sharon (Leeber) Haver. Chris attended Lenawee Christian School, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University. In the spring of 2021, he would have received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Western Michigan University. Chris was a competitive Skeet shooter, at one point vying for a place on the U.S. Olympic Team. He was a member of the U.S. World Cup Skeet Team, the Junior Olympic Skeet Team and was a 3-Gun Shooting National Contender. Mr. Haver has worked almost 7 years as an engineer for Benteler Automotive Group, in Galesburg, Michigan. He started at Benteler as an intern and it turned into a full time job. Chris was one of the most amazing forces to ever grace this world. Any room he walked into felt his dynamic personality, his love and caring for others, his selflessness, his joy of life, his thirst for adventure, his desire to teach his passions, his contagious energy and he was so incredibly genuine! Chris was excited for the future, but always lived each day to the fullest. He would try to catch every sunrise and sunset and he appreciated every chance to do something new. Chris always said “I’ll sleep when I’m dead”…his fiancé said, “You can rest now my love, you have lived more in your short time than any of us!” Chris is survived by his parents: Manley Chris and Sharon Haver of Clinton; sister: Shanna Haver of Ypsilanti; fiancé: Jennifer Aldridge of Kalamazoo; grandmothers: Bethany Haver of Metamora and Selma Leeber of Rochester; dear dog, Onyx; and many other dear family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Edward Haver and Lewis Leeber. In accordance with Chris’ wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, details to follow. Mr. Haver cremains will be interred at Seymour Lake Cemetery in Brandon Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haver-Halter JO Fund, Hillsdale College, 33 E. College St., Hillsdale, MI 49242-9989.
