Lovette Rae (Helvie) Whittington, age 81, Logansport, passed away at 2:25 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Chase Center.

Born in Lafayette on January 17, 1939, she was the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Vera Florence Kellenberger Cole.

She was married to Danny Whittington, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by three husbands, Robert Grantham, Edward Helvie, Sr., and Marion Hardy.

Lovette had been employed at Ambers, McDonalds and Chase Center.

She enjoyed playing BINGO and especially her dog, Gracie.

Surviving are sons, Edward Helvie (Michelle), David Grantham (Cindy), Mike Grantham (Beth); daughters, Roberta Walker, Patty Crawford (Lloyd), Betty Davis (Alan), Helen Armstrong, (Gary), Ruby Stevens (John); brother, Marvin Cole (Ruth); seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, three nephews.

Two great-granddaughters preceded her in death.

Visitation is Friday, September 11, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Davis Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chase Center or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
