Geraldine "Jeri" Childs, 85, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 in Lexington KY. Born in Frankfort KY on April 25, 1935 to the late Kermit and Beatrice Childs, Jeri is lovingly remembered by her brother, Dennis Childs (Lexington), two nieces, Jane (Clarence) Lewis (Knoxville TN), Lisa (Joseph) Fields (Lexington), a nephew, Larry (Debra) Childs (Louisville), a great nephew, Ross Fields, four great nieces, Lauren (Bradley) Greenman, Addison Childs, Rylee Childs, Caitlyn Baker, and a great, great niece, Harper Greenman. Jeri will also be sorely missed by her longtime pet, Dusty. Jeri attended Henry Clay High School in Lexington KY. She played competitive fast pitch softball and was a member of Joe Smiley's Parkette softball team of Lexington KY. Jeri competed on several bowling teams, receiving many awards and trophies. She had a long career with LexTran, driving a city bus, the Trolley, and the UK Blue White transport. After retirement, Jeri became a beloved courtesy driver for Green's Toyota for several years. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2089 Versailles Rd, Lexington KY 40504. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Woodford Humane Society or Bluegrass Hospice Care. Arrangements handled by Care Cremation and Funeral Service.
