Lillian E. Kersten nee Gratz, age 94. Devoted wife of the late Raymond F.; beloved mother of Raymond, Jr. (Mary) and James (Mary); loving grandmother of Nathan Kersten, Adam (Danica) Kersten, MaryBeth (Jeff) Long, Jim Kersten and Christopher (Nina) Kersten; great grandmother of Meena, Gabriel, Henry and Milo; dear sister of the late Edward (the late Margaret) Gratz. We now lay to rest Lillian E. Kersten nee Gratz, age 94. Lillian is warmly remembered for her uncompromising lawn care standards; her fondness for Lilliputianesque wine bottles; her peerless Poker and Gin Rummy prowess; her love of exotic talking birds; and her exquisite fashion sense – namely her always-magnificent hairstyle combined with a bespoke array of striking faux-animal prints that would surely be the envy of all the mid-history crowned heads of Europe. Lillian’s unique lexicon, based heavily on old-world anachronisms, has influenced the vernacular of several generations of Kerstens. Her decades-long experience in retail made her a supreme judge of character and a true master at amusement during downtime. Lillian will be truly missed.
