Dorothy M. VanBuskirk

Dorothy M. VanBuskirk, 97, of Middletown, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at her home. She was born in Middletown on May 2, 1918 to parents Benjamin M. and Ethel (Stillwaugh) Stubbs. Dorothy graduated from the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and worked as a school nurse for Middletown Schools for 30 years. Mrs. VanBuskirk is survived by her son, Dr. Ronald (Diana) VanBuskirk; grandchildren, Anna VanBuskirk & Benjamin VanBuskirk; and caring neighbors, Larry & Martha LaWarre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud VanBuskirk in 2003 and her parents. The family wishes to extend their thanks to George & Jenni Blake for their care of Dorothy and to Touching Hearts at Home for all their assistance, as well as to the Crossroads Hospice Staff and to Dr. Mark Frazer. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Woodside Cemetery, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Tim Draxler officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
