Wilma M. Tkach (nee DeLong) 82 of Lansing passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Symphony of Dyer, Dyer, Indiana. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, John Tkach; loving mother of David (Pamela) Tkach; cherished grandmother of Carly and Ryan Tkach; dear sister of Roberta Whittle; fond sister-in-law of Nancy (late Gerald) Tatarek and Ruth Tkach; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 12 noon at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with the Rev. Andrew Summerson of St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting, officiating; cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00am to time of services. (Due to the current health situation a limitation of 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time, face masks must be worn, social distancing is expected and temperatures will be taken.) Wilma Tkach was born on March 27, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to Oliver and Thelma DeLong and was a longtime resident of the Calumet Region. She was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting and had work in the retail industry for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching game shows. Devoted to her family, Wilma will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
