Mark Vazny Lansing March 29, 1929 – September 5, 2020 The Lord called Mark to his eternal home on Sept. 5th, at the age of 91. His family will miss him, but will instead of mourning Mark’s passing, they will celebrate his spending eternity with his wife, Marty, who preceded him in death 22 years ago. They are in heaven walking hand in hand, or ballroom dancing. Maybe mom will go bowling with him, he would have loved that. Mark was loved by all who knew him. He was the first one called upon to help with any household repairs or remodels. Neighbors and very dear friends, Ed & Kim, gave him the nickname, Wise One, and it stuck. Born March 29, 1929 in Versailles France, he came to America with his mother at the age of 19, and got his citizenship in 1951. Mark served in the Korean War, and shortly after his discharge, met the love of his life Marty, and married in 1954. Mark began working along with his brothers-in-law at their store in Lake Lansing. Later, he was a residential painter, which led to commercial painting for B+J’s Painting. Some of his jobs were, the capital, St. Martha’s in Okemos, St. Lawrence Hospital, and many schools throughout Michigan. Left to celebrate his entering the kingdom of eternal life are his daughter, Eileen (Dick) Ridenour, his grandchildren Mike Ridenour, Michele Ridenour, and Eric (Kelly) Ridenour. Great grandchildren, Cory Ridenour, Sheyenne Tinges, and Rebecca Ridenour. Great-Great grandsons, Aiden and Chase Ridenour. Mark’s family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Robinwood Lansing Alzheimer’s Care Center for the compassionate, loving care he was given. They were his family during this Covid 19, when we couldn’t be. Also his hospice nurse the last few days of his life. God bless all of you! There will be a private graveside service, as Mark requested, with Fr. Jim Eisele presiding over burial next to wife.
