Sherry Gibson Obituary

Sherry Gibson of Buna died Saturday, September 5, 2020. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Central Baptist Church in Evadale with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday. Sherry was a woman who gave her love to every person she knew and in return was loved by all. She never backed down from a challenge but rather met obstacles head-on fueled by her faith. She was strong, hardworking, capable, courageous, smart, caring, loving and even hardheaded from time to time. She loved her family in a fierce way. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were her life and passion. Her grands had a special place in her heart. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed her time at the lake and spent much of her time on gardening, yard work, refinishing of furniture, and needlework. She loved baking and cooking but especially enjoyed cook-offs. She loved the camaraderie and togetherness she felt when with her team. And boy was she competitive at those cook-offs! Sherry leaves behind her husband of twenty-one years Charles Gibson of Evadale, TX, daughter Tiffany kaspar, her husband Zachary and their children Paige and William of Vidor, TX, daughter Tessa Gibson of Magnolia Texas, step-daughter Jennifer Phillips, her husband Lamar and their children Elizabeth, Halley, Clayton, and Jody-Shane, mother Annell Mott of Woodville Texas, brother Ronald Powell of Woodville, TX, and sister Lori Rankin and family of Belton Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Almon Powell and granddaughter Rayleigh Kaspar.
