MARUFF, Rosemary (nee de Rozario) Passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 77. Beloved wife of the late Peter Maruff (2012). Loving mother of Jeannette Marry (Glenn) and Shelley Quatrale (Daniel). Reunited in heaven with her son Peter and daughter Alison. Proud Grandmother of Katherine (Brent), Jennifer and Allison Marry and Savannah and Alysha Quatrale. Dear sister of Patricia Hutchfield (David). Predeceased by her parents, Muriel and Kenneth de Rozario and by her sister Audrey White (Ronald). She will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends. Mom had a big heart and always put her family first, no matter what. Busy working days still ended with her caring for and spending time with her family. Her unconditional love and compassion lives as an example to all around her. Her encyclopaedic knowledge and love of reading meant long deep conversations were the norm. She was a lover of people and had the kind of open-mindedness that travelling and appreciating other cultures brings. Several losses and illnesses took her energy, yet she smiled and prayed hoping for the best for everyone else, while maintaining her sense of fun and humour. She is dearly loved, will always be missed, and will now take her much deserved rest in peace. Thank you to the staff at Orchard Terrace Retirement Centre for the care, compassion and love they showed mom every single day. Thank you to the medical teams at Hamilton General for their kindness and thoughtfulness during her final hours. Due to pandemic restrictions a private family and friends service will be held at SMITH’s FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) with cremation to follow. If desired memorial contributions to mom’s favourite charity The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
