Gwendolyn (VanDunk) Easton Obituary

Gwendolyn Easton (nee Van Dunk) was born in the village of Hillbum, NY to her loving parents Gladys and John Van Dunk On July 17, 1930. Sim was the eldest of 6 children and attended high school in Suffern NY. Gwen married the love of her life, Robert Easton Jr., in 1952 and they moved to Paterson, NJ that same year. From that beautiful union were born 4 children. Gwendolyn, also known as Gwen, was a hardworking and classy woman. She worked many jobs for several years, including working as a caterer alongside her husband and providing aide on school buses. The job that was most important and dear to her was being a supportive and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cared for any and every one that needed her without hesitation or judgment. She enjoyed cooking, watching her daily soap operas, crossword puzzles, spending time with her family, and of course shopping. Gwen also loved to tell stories about her upbringing, which were some of the greatest stories ever told. Gwen is predeceased by her parents, 5 siblings, daughters Andrea Jones and Rhonda Thompson, and her loving husband Robert Easton Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Camille Easton of Paterson, NJ; a loving son Rodney Easton (Trenace Davenport) of Sussex, NJ; 6 special granddaughters, Heather Easton, Libra Jones (Jorel Cooper), Lynsey and Lila Jones, Jade and Aspen Thompson; grandson Roy Jones Jr.; aunt Justine Wynn; nieces Stacy Van Dunk, Pam Freeman and Keli Peterson; nephews Tyler and John Peterson and Lawrence Van Dunk Jr.; her beautiful great grandchildren Noah Legette, Jurnee, Amari and Andrea Jones, Ny'Lani and Zara Perkins and Aubrey Warren; her devoted best friends Frankie Garza and Lear Pressey and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, bonus grandchildren, family and friends. Gwen was our angel on earth and now she is forever our guardian angel in heaven.
