Thomas Segovia, III Obituary

Thomas Segovia, III, of Converse passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 59. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 19, 1961 to Rebecca (Herrera) and Thomas Segovia, Jr. He was a graduate from Judson high school in 1979, he was in the band and choir. He was employed for the US Postal Service in his earlier career life. Later, he worked as an IT for different companies. 

He was preceded in death by His father Thomas Segovia, Jr., sister Judy Lynne Segovia; Grandparents: Thomas B Segovia and Carolina Trejo Segovia, and William T. Herrera, Jr., and Pilar Lopez Herrera.

Survivors include Mother Rebecca Segovia of Converse, TX, sister Carol Segovia Gamble of Converse, TX,  daughters: Rachel Sargent (Brandon), Jessica Johnson (Dave), Amanda Sloan (Lane) all from Amory, MS; grandchildren: Sydney, Briley, Whaley and (soon to come) Baby Johnson; nieces: Meagan, Morgan and Michaela; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Thomas was a long-time member at Converse Baptist Church. Founded a southern gospel band John 4:16 with friends from high school: Jeff Stutevoss, Lance Merrick and Brent Todd. He sang at many local churches for several years. Music was very important to him and was a way he could share his faith. 

Thomas loved spending time with his family. His greatest joy was his 3 daughters and grandchildren. Anyone that knew him would know the love he had for his daughters and grandkids. He loved being a Grandpa and loved being able to travel to be with them at many different occasions. He was a hard worker and a Harley Davidson fanatic. 

The Visitation will be held at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. The Burial will be held at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
