MARILYN HOOD, 67, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:45 A.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Arthur Home.

Private family graveside services will be held in the Arcola Cemetery.   The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

 Marilyn was born on March 17, 1953 in Tuscola, IL.   She was a daughter of Robert Harold and Helen Frances (Alcorn) Maxwell.   

 She is survived by two sons, Ryan Hood and his wife Denise of Washington, IL and Chris Hood and his wife Shannon of Effingham, IL; four grandchildren, Brandon and Dylan and Robert and Serenity; one sister, Linda Clark and her husband Butch of Arcola, IL; two brothers, Robert L. Maxwell and his wife Lynn and Frank E. Maxwell and his wife Karen all of Arcola, IL; three nieces, Tisha Goad and her husband Jason, Jodi Pantier and her husband Chad all of Arcola, IL and Haley Campbell and her husband Drew of Sullivan; five great-nieces and two great-nephews.

 Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.

 Marilyn was a 1971 graduate of Arcola High School.   She worked as a bookkeeper for Doerhring, Winders and Co. LLP – CPA in Mattoon, IL for over 30 years, retiring in 2010.

 Marilyn was a member of the Arcola First Christian Church.

 She enjoyed taking care of her yard, doing landscaping and caring for all the beautiful plants and flowers.

 Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
