William Cecil Rast, IV Obituary

William Cecil Rast, IV, 23, of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 as a result of injuries sustained during a accident in Colleton County.

Born March 30, 1997, in Walterboro,  he was the son of Mr. William Cecil Rast, III and Mrs. Hermosa Dorinda Player.  William was a country boy in every way for sure.  He possessed an avid love for mudding, fishing, boating and anything outdoors related.  You could even often catch him with his Labrador Retriever, Cash, who he’d spend hours with in the yard, fetching, running and laying out in the field. Growing up he had a love for dirt bikes and began racing them when he was three years old.  During his high school years he was a avid soccer, football and basketball player.  William was known to be a clown sometimes but he certainly was sweet and friendly in every way.  He had a good heart and would do anything for his friends.  He loved his music and he'd have it everywhere he went, including the shower.  He was a kind southern gentleman who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by: his mother, Dorinda P. Player (Wayne) of Walterboro, father William C. Rast, III (Tracy Bogan); grandparents, Kathleen and Allen Groves and Ryan Pellum; a brother, Ryan Player; and sisters, Nikki Player and Shaye Player; he was also survived by his special friend, Ryan Helmueller.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brenda and William C. Rast, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Friday morning, September 11, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

The family will receive during a time of visitation, from 4 o'clock until 7 o’clock this Thursday evening at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro, 843.538.5408.  Visit the registry online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
