Services for Grady Odell Rude, 84, of Golden, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Dwayne McCormack officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #2 Cemetery, Golden. Mr. Rude passed away September 5, 2020, in Grand Saline. He was born November 21, 1935, in Hamilton County to Winn Ole and Gladys Marie Sorley Rude. On May 8, 1981, he married Joyce Virginia Jones in Arlington. Grady was a materials handler for General Motors and retired from the company after 30 years of service. He had lived in the Golden area for the last 30 years. Grady also served in the United States Air Force. He loved his show goats and living in East Texas. Grady is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Joyce Rude of Mineola; two sons, Randy Rude of Arlington and Rusty Rude and wife Jeanine of Arlington; step-son, Charles Gibbs and wife Donna of Cuba, Missouri; step-daughter, Becky Gibbs of Roosevelt, Oklahoma; brother, Sammy Neal Rudd and wife Chris of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Krista Rude and Jenna Rude; three step-grandchildren, Mike Chew and wife Crista, Jason Chew and partner Dan, and Daymon Gibbs; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home in Alba.
