Mrs. Edwina Lucy Melvin Obituary

Another lovely Angelic Rose has been added to Heaven's Bouquet on Saturday evening when the Master Gardner Jesus Christ, plucked Mrs. Edwina Owens Melvin from this world to forever blossom with Him In glory.

Life and Legacy Services will commence on Saturday, September 19, 2020 with moments of reflection during a visitation from 1pm to 2pm, in the main sanctuary of First Missionary Baptist Church in Roseboro, NC. During this time, family and friends can gather and rewind mentally, to the lovely moments shared with Mrs. Melvin. Beginning at 3pm, A Farewell Ceremony by the Graveside will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery. As difficult as this time is for everyone, her children can find solace knowing, not only will Mrs. Melvin be reuniting with the man she loved so dearly here on earth, Mr. R. T. Melvin, she will be meeting the man that loved her so much, that he laid His Life down, so that when she left this world behind, He would have a mansion ready for her beyond the skies.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. R. T. Melvin, parents: Henry and Corenia Owens, three children: Barbara Jean Butler, Ora M. Webb and Robert Ed Melvin, one grandson: Patrick Rich.

Mrs. Melvin leaves to cherish her memories her children: Brenda F. Gibson, Artis L. Melvin and Terry L. Melvin; fifteen grandchildren; Julius Butler (Melanie), Tracy Butler, Maya Gibson, Timothy Gibson (Nicole), Adrienne Owens, Aaron Owens, Geoffrey Owens, Barnes Williams (Loretta), Fred Williams, Adriann Wilcox (Junior), Dion Melvin (Tiffany), Terrell Anders, Iesha McLaurin, Tyler Melvin, and Torren Melvin, Thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, three sisters: Lola Melvin Mcdoe, Emma Owens Butler both of Newburgh NY, and Margaret Owens Johnson (Roy) of Fayetteville NC, one daughter in law; Darlene Melvin of Roseboro NC, two sisters in law; Terecia Moore of Roseboro NC and Remelle Cromartie (Al) of Fayetteville NC. Three brothers in law; Rev. Jimmy Melvin (Janet), Wordrick Melvin, and Randy Melvin (Carlis), all of Roseboro NC and a host of other relatives and friends.
