Funeral services for Bobbie King, 84, will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Terry Williams officiating. The service can be viewed on Facebook Live on the Calvary Baptist Facebook page. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, September 7, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.

She passed away September 5, 2020 in Childress.

She was born March 3, 1936 in Cee Vee to Lee Galyean and Reta Lewis Galyean.

Bobbie loved to cook, sew, sing and read. She had all of the Louis L’Amour books. She loved her family above all and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught the 4 and 5-year-old Sunday School class for 40 years. She married Joe Bailey King in 1953 and in January, they celebrated 67 years of marriage. They were a true love story and enjoyed a long, Christian marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin daughters Colleen and Nolleen King; daughter, Glenda King Hamrick and a brother, Jackie Galyean.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Bailey King of Childress; a daughter, Freda Dodson of Childress; a grandson, Jay Glen Stroud and Crystal Gannaway of Childress; a granddaughter, Kristen Strong and husband, Devin, of Megargel, Texas; a grandson, Kyle Dodson and wife, Tara, of Quanah; a great grandson, Preston Stroud; a brother Lafayette Galyean and wife, Vikki; a sister, Betty Seagroves and husband, Bob; a brother, Lee Galyean and wife, Annette; a brother, Felton Galyean and wife, Faye; a son-in-law, Brent Hamrick and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
