Sharon L. Begyn, 90, of Milan, Ill., passed away Saturday September 5, 2020 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. A Rosary will be recited 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with visitation following from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In accordance with public gathering guidance, those attending are to wear a mask and observe social distancing. Capacity limitations will be monitored. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.

Sharon was born July 15, 1930 in Moline, a daughter of Virgil and Edna McLaughlin Adams. She graduated from Sherrard High School. Sharon married John R. Begyn on September 3, 1949 in Milan. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2005.

Sharon was a homemaker, and will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and a great cook.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan, where she had served as a communicant and helped with funeral luncheons for many years. Other memberships included St. Ambrose Women’s Auxiliary and the Milan Red Hats.

Surviving are her sons, Steven (Bonnie) Begyn, Latham, NY, Gregory (Lori) Begyn, Coal Valley, Ill., and Kevin (Kathy) Begyn, Rock Island, Ill.; grandsons, Andrew, Brent, Brad and Justin; great grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Blair; and her brother, Ronald Adams.
