Genevieve Edith Coulter

Genevieve Edith Coulter, 97, of Lapeer, died Sunday, September 6, 2020. Genevieve was born October 8, 1922 in Hadley to William and Edith (Hauxwell) Eckel. She graduated from Hadley High School, class of 1941. Right out of school Genevieve worked for General Motors Truck & Bus helping with the war effort. Soon after, she became interested in cosmetology – a career that she enjoyed her entire life. Genevieve worked many years at Velma Dean’s Salon in Lapeer. She married Arden Arthur Coulter on June 17, 1950 in Hadley. Above all, Genevieve loved her family and raising her boys. She loved sewing, cooking, playing cards, fishing, dancing with Arden and trips to the cabin in Lewiston. Genevieve is survived by her two sons: Terry (Tammy) Coulter of Lapeer and Dale (Patricia) Coulter of Columbiaville; grandsons: Scott (Julie) Coulter of Lapeer and Kevin Coulter of Burton; great grandchildren: Cole and Lexi. Genevieve is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coulter was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Coulter; siblings: Keith Eckel, Lorraine Eckel, Duane “Dee” Eckel, Evelyn Bird and Jack Eckel; and her aforementioned parents. In keeping with Genevieve’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 26, 2020 at the Oregon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Pines of Lapeer Assisted Living, 1446 Suncrest Drive, Lapeer, Michigan 48446.
