Edwin Woodrow Higginbotham Jr.

<p>Mr. Edwin Woodrow Higginbotham Jr., age 81, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.&nbsp;He&nbsp;was the son of Edwin Woodrow and Alverta Martha (Wilkinson)&nbsp;Higginbotham and a lifelong resident of Maxville, Florida. Edwin served his country faithfully in&nbsp;the United States Army. Afterward, he began as a truck driver and worked until his retirement with CROWLEY Shipping and&nbsp;Logistics in Jacksonville. Edwin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed turkey hunting. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union #512 and the&nbsp;NRA. Ewin was&nbsp;a staunch Conservative Republican and adamant President Trump supporter. In a simpler time, he had some renown in the remote distillery business.<br /> He was preceded in death by his parents;&nbsp;his brother, Charles Higginbotham; sister, Carolyn Cheek;&nbsp;and his son, Edwin Woodrow &ldquo;Woody&rdquo;&nbsp;Higginbotham III.<br /> Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Carolyn Higginbotham of Maxville; daughter, Lisa Higginbotham of Maxville;&nbsp;brother, Terry Starling (Karen) of Middleburg; sister, Annette Huling of Orange Park; grandchildren, Eddie Higginbotham IV (Tina), Robert Higginbotham, and Hope Higginbotham; great-grandchildren, E.J. Higginbotham, and Alex Higginbotham; along with numerous other family members and friends.<br /> Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Nolan Ridge Cemetery in Maxville. Mr. Edwin Woodrow Higginbotham Jr., age 81, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of Edwin Woodrow and Alverta Martha (Wilkinson) Higginbotham and a lifelong resident of Maxville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Higginbotham; sister, Carolyn Cheek; and his son, Edwin Woodrow “Woody” Higginbotham III.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Carolyn Higginbotham of Maxville; daughter, Lisa Higginbotham of Maxville; brother, Terry Starling (Karen) of Middleburg; sister, Annette Huling of Orange Park; grandchildren, Eddie Higginbotham IV (Tina), Robert Higginbotham, and Hope Higginbotham; great-grandchildren, E.J. Higginbotham, and Alex Higginbotham; along with numerous other family members and friends.
