Darrell Whitney Huffman Salem, Virginia Obituary

Darrell Whitney Huffman

Darrell Whitney Huffman, 40, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 5, 2020. It was no secret to anyone that Darrell was a people person. No matter where he was, he never seemed to cross paths with a stranger, and had the ability to light up a room with his smile. His smile was infectious, his jokes and rebuttals would have you laughing right along with him. He had a love for all people, and that love was unconditional and without judgement. A true country boy at heart, his common sense of style was a hat, jeans, cowboy boots, and no shirt, he never put a pair of tennis shoes on his feet. He was an avid outdoors man who spent his free time, Kayaking, fishing, or just enjoy the outdoors period. When it came to sports, he was also an avid 49er’s fan! Country music was his thing, and you would hear all different varieties of it ringing out from his speakers as he drove by. He is preceded in death by his mother, Abigail Bostic. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Darrell Huffman; sons, Brandon (Brittany) and Chase Huffman; sister, Miranda Huffman (Wayne); nephews, Dylan, Hunter, and Ryan Sowers; great nephew, Braxton Sowers; Also left to cherish his memory are numerous dear friends and family members. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. For those who would like to attend the service from home, a live video feed can be accessed on the funeral home's website under his obituary listing. Pastor Danny Kesler will be officiating. View Funeral Webcast
