Mr. George H. Jenkins, 89 years of Lynn died on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Salem Hospital after a brief illness. He is the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Anne (Amirault) Jenkins. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Frank and Marie (Salois) Jenkins.  He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Jean Baptiste High School and Bentley College in 1957. George has lived in Lynn all of his life.He was an Air Force Veteran and served in Germany as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. For 46 years he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish and most recently he attended Holy Family Church.  He was past President and Chairman of St. Jean’s Credit Union, and past President of St. Vincent DePaul Society and member for over 20 years.  He was active in Sacred Heart Parish in the Food Pantry as well as a Eucharistic Minister.George was employed for 40 years as an accountant for Paine Webber, now UBS. For the last 20 years he served as Vice President and Operations Manager.In addition to his wife with whom he shared 60 years of marriage, he leaves his four children, Dean Jenkins of Peabody, Diane Lavoie and her husband John of Peabody, Brian Jenkins and his wife Tricia of Lynn and Keith Jenkins of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and his grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Nicole and Dylan. He also leaves his sisters Eleanor Wykoff of Lynn and Rita Doucette of Connecticut. He is the brother of the late Francis, Lester, Roland and Richard Jenkins.Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Lynn. His funeral mass is private. Adhering to the guidelines of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the CDC, visitation will be limited to 40 family members and friends at a time.  Donations may be made in his memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston Street, Lynn, Massachusetts 01905.
