Ronald J. “Ronnie” Rector, 84, of Plattsburgh passed away peacefully Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the home he built with his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Troy, NY on June 20, 1936 the son of Roy and Eva (Bashaw) Rector. Ronnie retired from Clinton Correctional Facility after thirty years of service as an Correction Officer. He will be remembered for his masonry work. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, having created many bows and spending time with family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents. Ronnie is survived by his wife of sixty years Marianne (McMartin) Rector, his children; Beth (Richard) Jaques of Stafford, VA, Joseph (Kathryn) Rector of Plattsburgh, Michael (JoAnne) Rector of Salt Lake City, Utah, Matthew (Susan) Rector of Richmond, VT, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his canine companion Molly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
