Mr. Maurice R. Isaacs, Sr., 91, formerly of Jeisyville, IL died Saturday, September 5, 2020 in rural Stonington, IL.

He was born June 5, 1929 in West Frankfort, IL the son of James and Esther (Cowen) Isaacs.  Maurice married Leona B. Ray on August 10, 1948 in West Frankfort.  They celebrated 51 years together. She preceded him in death August 1, 1999.

Mr. Isaacs worked as a coal miner for over 44 years retiring from Peabody Mine #10 in 1993.  He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and enjoyed gardening and meticulously caring for his yard in Jeisyville.

Surviving are 2 sons James L and his wife Vicky Isaacs of Kincaid, IL and Maurice “Butch” and his wife Cheryl Isaacs, Jr., of Pana, IL along with 4 granddaughters Wendy (Mike) Dulakis of Kincaid, IL Cori (Robert) Barry of Chatham, IL Peggy (Matthew) Koonce of Kokomo, IN Morganne (Alex) Trickett of LeRoy, IL great-grandchildren Austin Tryon, Grace Dulakis, Kailyn Barry, Chase Barry, Addison Koonce, Claire Koonce, Caden Koonce, Rhett Trickett, his twin sister Doris of Bonney Lake, WA along with many nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL.  Masterson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Kincaid, IL is honored to be entrusted with his care.
