David DeVere Wilt, a lifelong resident of Brighton, Michigan died on September 5th, 2020 surrounded by his family. Dave was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 21, 1955 to parents DeVere Lamar and Katie Lovina (née. Turner) Wilt. He graduated from Hartland High School and was a general supervisor for a large aggregate company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. Dave was a member of the American Spirit Center where he cultivated many quality friendships. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Kayla Wilt. Next to his daughter, his greatest joy in life was excelling in his work environment. Dave was quite a jokester and had many funny quotes. Two of his most favorite were...”It’s all about the money” and “none of us are getting out of this alive.” He will be greatly missed by his loving family, many friends and coworkers. Dave is survived by his daughter, Kayla Wilt; siblings, Glenn (the late Sharyl), Catherine (Jerry) Freyman, and Diana (Jack) Hawkins; sister-in-law, Mary Wilt; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Courtney) Wilt, Stasha Wilt, Jessica Wilt, Ernie (Julie) Hawkins, Jennifer (Charlie) Miller, Noel (Lauren) Hawkins, Randy (Michelle)) Wilt and Shannon (Bill) Riley. He is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, DeVere and Katie Wilt, his brother, Randy Wilt and his nephews, Andrew and Robert Wilt. Extended family and friends may gather at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 East Liberty Street, Milford to travel in formal procession to Oak Grove Cemetery where a funeral service will be held at 1 PM.
