<p style="text-align: justify;">Junior Witt, 81, of Welton, Iowa, died Saturday evening, September 5, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, Iowa, with his family by his side.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Adolph &ldquo;Junior&rdquo; Witt&nbsp;was born January 9, 1939, to Louise (Sillmann) and Adolph &ldquo;Otto&rdquo; Witt in his grandparents home in DeWitt, Iowa.&nbsp; He was raised on his family farm and attended a one-room school house until 8th grade.&nbsp; Junior&nbsp;then attended school in Delmar, Iowa, where he graduated in 1957.&nbsp; Following&nbsp;graduation from high school, he attended an automotive school in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; In 1957, Junior married Carol Winchip and had a daughter, Peggy, in 1958. They later divorced but remained friends.&nbsp; In March 1960, Junior enlisted in the United States Air Force.&nbsp; On August 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to&nbsp;Ruth Schroeder of&nbsp;Andrew, Iowa.&nbsp;He was employed by Alcoa in Riverdale, Iowa, retiring in 1992&nbsp;after 30 years of service.&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">He was a member of the Clinton Amvets Post #28.&nbsp; Junior was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Green Bay Packers and WWE fan.&nbsp; He loved spending time with family and friends, wintering in Texas, camping and watching his westerns on TV.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ruth; his children, Peggy (Frank) Wells of Batesville, Arkansas, Deb (Tim) Hopkins of Amboy, Illinois, Dee Dee (Dick) Banowetz of Grand Mound, Iowa, Daryl (Svetlana Avtukh) Witt of Lowden, Iowa, Denise Scott of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Darren &ldquo;Butch&rdquo; (Gala) Witt of Mason City, Iowa; 15 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; a sister, Shirley Anderson and a brother, George Witt.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Junior was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margery Scholl, Darlene &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; Smith and Betty Zerrien and his&nbsp;granddaughters, Jennye Wells and Leighvi Witt.&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020.&nbsp; A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Vicar Ruthie Mhanga officiating.&nbsp; The service will be streamed at <a href="http://www.facebook.com/schultzfuneralhomes/live">www.facebook.com/schultzfuneralhomes/live</a>.&nbsp; Burial and military rites will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.&nbsp; A luncheon will follow at Buzzy&#39;s in Welton.&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Pallbearers will be grandchildren,&nbsp;Alex Wells, Matt Wells, Paul Banowetz, Jaslieza Scott, Jerica Giles, Mequela Witt, Raquel Witt and Drayden Witt.&nbsp; Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Robin Tims, Adam Hopkins, Amanda Medine, Janae Scott, Jaedyn Scott, Braxton Witt and Tayton Witt.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Condolences may be expressed and a photo tribute viewed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.</p>

Junior Witt, 81, of Welton, Iowa, died Saturday evening, September 5, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, Iowa, with his family by his side.
