Ira H. Fetter, 96, of Read Hill Rd, Fishertown, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on September 5, 2020 at Brian and Cinda’s home in Osterburg.

He was born on May 26, 1924, in Cessna; son of George L. and Mary E. (Hoagland) Fetter.

On December 14, 1945, he married Doris M. Ickes, in Bedford. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2008.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Dale, Carl, Paul, Russell, and Eugene Fetter; 3 sisters, Ruth Norris, Myrtle Reisling, Elizabeth (Betty) Glover; 3 sister-in-law’s, Dorothy (Shaffer) Fetter, Norma (Wilson) Fetter, Marian (Phillips) Fetter; and 6 brother-in-law’s, Donald Wilkins, Oscar Norris, Robert Reisling, William Glover, Ronnie Ketterman, and Charles (Chuck) Miller.

He is survived by two sons, H. Alan Fetter and wife Donna J. (Farkas) of New Paris; Brian K. Fetter and wife Cinda A. (Claycomb) of Osterburg; one daughter, Cheryl D. and husband John E. Duffy of Bedford; three sisters, Evelyn Wilkins of Manns Choice; Alice Miller of Bedford; and Shirley Ketterman of Bedford; two sister-in-law’s, Janet (Imler) Fetter and Ruth (Felix) Fetter; five grandchildren, Angela Fetter, Shawn Fetter, Craig Fetter, Beth Wareham, and Michael Barefoot; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one step grandchild, Shelia Hern; two Step-great-grandchildren, and eight step great-great grandchildren.

Ira was employed by Bedford Rural Electric Corporation for 45 years until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed hunting and attending auctions. He was a kind and loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The funeral will be private due to the Covid 19 virus.

Interment will be at the Fishertown Cemetery.
