James Lee Horsley, 62, of Homewood, AL passed away on September 5, 2020. James was born on February 23, 1958 and grew up in Alexander City, AL. He graduated from Samford University with a bachelor’s degree in Religion and Spanish. He was a Pastor at First Baptist Church in Sylvan Springs for over 10 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jo Horsley; sisters, Susan Wyatt, Cindy Smith, and Vicky Simpson; and brother, John Horsley, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Leigh Horsley; children, Lindsay Holliday (Chris) and David Horsley (Ashley); and grandson, Parker Horsley; brothers, Richard Bearden, Robert Horsley, and David Horsley; and sisters, Iris Latham, Tammy Salinas, and Stormy Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Kevin Boles officiating. The graveside service will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Reverend Ken Roberts officiating.
