Mary Helen Stankosky, aged 83, passed away at home in Beavercreek, Ohio Monday, August 31, 2020 after spending 6 weeks in the hospital battling an infection she could not overcome. She was born Thursday, July 1, 1937 in Statesville, North Carolina to the late Charles and Ida Isenhour. In addition to her parents, Mary was proceeded in death by her husband John, daughter Elizabeth, sisters Shirley Ann and Mickey, brother Ernie and his wife Madeline, and two brothers-in-law, Charles Howard and Gail Maxwell. Mary is survived by her children Johnny (Vanessa), Susan (Michael) Bryant, Charles (Brenda), Mark Eric (Amy), Thomas (Holly), and Andrew, her 29 grandchildren (plus 18 more as spouses), 57 great-grandchildren, her sisters Judy Maxwell, Pat Howard, Dean (Steve) Bodenhammer, and her half-brother Dwight David (Shelia) Isenhour. Mary has lived in North Carolina, Hawaii, Utah, Arizona,Texas, California, and Ohio. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings over the years, especially with the children. She was well loved with a kind disposition and had a gift of becoming a listening ear wherever she went. She loved her family! She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren! She spoke caringly of all, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved to reminisce of good times shared. She spoke fondly of good friends and neighbors over the years, many who received family titles, of Jill in California, her Relief Society mountain trips, her game group, and her “golden girls” group.She enjoyed flowers, vegetables fresh from the garden, crocheting, cooking, sewing, and playing games. She loved to read!A surprise about Mary - in her younger years she was aroller skate dancer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept 12th at 1:00, with a viewing from 11:30 – 12:30, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,1390 East Midvalley Road, Enoch, Utah. She will be interred next to her husband and daughter in the Enoch Cemetery.
