Shirley McFarland Young, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 5, 2020.  Born April 4, 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina she moved to Chattanooga in 1964.  Shirley attended Tyner High School graduating in 1970.  She studied at Cleveland State, School for X-ray Technician at Erlanger and entered the field of CMA where she worked in the OBGYN offices as an AAMA member. Shirley was also a member of Sale Creek Church of God.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erika Robin Young; dad, Melton H. McFarland and brothers, Maxie”Larry” and Robert McFarland.

 

She is survived by her husband, Eric Young; daughter, Jessica Westbrook; mother, Maxine McFarland; brother, John McFarland; grandchildren, Kelsey Reardon and Noah Westbrook; great granddaughter, Zeppelin Rose Reardon, cousins, Kenny and David Brown; several nieces and nephews.

 

Services will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Terry Bolton officiating.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
